Cork’s Place Training

The training was very rich and meaningful to help us
understand that every child deserves the opportunity to grieve in a loving,
caring, supportive and understanding environment. Cork’s Place is all of those
things. If you haven’t been there, let me tell you that you can see the grief
in the walls of the art room and feel the comfort in the pillows and stuffed
animals in the circle room. Our trainers, Wanda and Susan were very accepting, teaching us how to help the children through their
grief by understanding, caring and leading us through our own personal grief.
I became very close to the other people in class as we learned how to
help children face their grief.
They taught us how to be good listeners, giving them (deep) affection,
acknowledging their pain and providing acceptance.
It was a very rich and rewarding experience. I would highly recommend it
to anyone who would like to make a difference in the life of a child. |
